A comforting pasta dish featuring caramelized leeks and mushrooms, topped with melted Gruyere cheese.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 leeks, cleaned and sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the leeks. Sauté until they become translucent.
  3. Add the mushrooms and garlic, cooking until the mushrooms are golden brown.
  4. Stir in the thyme, cream, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Combine the pasta with the sauce, then mix in the grated Gruyere until melted and well-combined.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with additional cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sauté the leeks and mushrooms a bit longer until caramelized.
  • You can substitute Gruyere with your favorite cheese.
