A delicious and indulgent twist on the classic patty melt featuring turkey bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  2. In the same skillet, cook the sliced onions until caramelized.
  3. Form the ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook the beef patties in the skillet until desired doneness.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches by layering a patty, bacon, onions, and cheese between two slices of rye bread.
  6. Spread butter on the outside of the bread and grill until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the beef with a plant-based patty.
