Dauphinoise potatoes, a classic French dish, is elevated with savory turkey bacon and chicken ham for a deliciously creamy and indulgent comfort food.

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 onion, finely sliced
  • 4 ounces turkey bacon, diced
  • 4 ounces chicken ham, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon and chicken ham until crispy, then add the sliced onion and garlic. Sauté until softened.
  3. In a baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, followed by half of the meat mixture, and half of the cheese.
  4. Repeat the layering with the remaining potatoes, meat, and cheese.
  5. In a bowl, mix the cream, milk, thyme, salt, and pepper. Pour over the layered potatoes.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle additional thyme on top before serving.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before slicing to help retain shape.
