1 pound potatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
4 ounces turkey bacon
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
1 cup grated cheese (Gruyère or Cheddar)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a baking dish and layer sliced potatoes at the bottom.
In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, turkey bacon, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme. Heat until just simmering.
Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes and add cheese on top.
Bake for 45-50 minutes until the potatoes are tender and golden brown.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, omit the turkey bacon.
