  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, blend the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add in the eggs, vanilla, and food coloring.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour half the brownie batter into the prepared dish, then dollop the cream cheese on top.
  6. Layer the remaining brownie batter on top and swirl it with a knife.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely for cleaner cuts.
