- 4 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 ½ cups lukewarm water
- In a bowl, mix bread flour, salt, and sugar.
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and add to dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise again until about an inch above the rim of the pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack.
