- 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 4 ounces turkey bacon, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Cheddar)
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Heat gently.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with half the turkey bacon and half the cheese.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the layered potatoes.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, bacon, cheese, and cream mixture.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

- For a vegetarian version, omit turkey bacon and add more cheese.
