Ingredients

  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups kale, chopped
  • 1 large potato, diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the Italian sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add the chicken broth, diced potatoes, garlic, onion powder, and red pepper flakes to the pot. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
  5. Stir in the kale and heavy cream, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Chop the cooked turkey bacon and stir it back into the soup.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
