These Chocolate Caramel Cupcakes are a decadent dessert featuring a rich chocolate base and a luscious salted caramel filling that is sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, until well combined.
  6. Spoon the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before filling with the salted caramel sauce.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, drizzle more salted caramel sauce on top of the frosted cupcakes.
